I've Waited a Long Time For This Day

Not too long ago, I had posted Episode Four of Soul Note, a series of which I've decided to focus on, thus setting aside all other stories. If you haven't read it yet, then, I suggest that you read this first.

As the title states, I've been eager for this time to come. Mainly because of a certain character that is featured in the most recent chapter of SN. This character would be Crona.

Now, Crona is one of my favorite Soul Eater characters, but, the subject of whether or not people like this character is not what I'm here to discuss. No. Instead, I'd like to point out that, within the story, I avoid any mention or indication of the character's gender throughout the entire thing. AND I STILL AM. You see, the debate of Crona's gender is a pretty sore subject for me ever since after I posted Soul Eater Wonderland, and I'm sure I've mentioned this to people here and there. But now I'm really going to give a piece of my mind for as to why this gets under my skin so mercilessly. When I wrote the aforementioned Soul Eater Wonderland, I believe that I specified a gender for Crona and tried to be confusing about it for the sake of fun. I didn't really care nor did it really matter. In fact, looking back at it, that small detail really didn't amount to a SINGLE THING in that story. That's one of the reasons why I hate this gender debate so much. The only way that Crona's gender would have relevance at all would be to determine whether or not pairing the character with, say, Maka or Death the Kid would make Crona straight or homosexual or bi, or if one were trying to involve Crona in mature fanfiction. Other than that, IT DOESN'T MATTER . Even despite that pet peeve, this debate starts to cross the line when it impedes me from being able to have fun with the character. Now, I don't mean that in a way of which I would do with them as a please, such as making them out of character. That is, in fact, completely out of my policy, which is to show my respect and admiration for other people's creations by making sure they are as in-character as I can manage, and, as a result, I make sure to research the characters I write about as best as I can. I would love to write Crona in a the canon gender, but I don't think anyone really knows what it is and there's too many opinions and too little evidence to tell (and don't any of you dare give me the alleged "canon-gender" or you will have completely missed the point). I myself have an opinion on the character's gender, but do not wish to express it anymore because, when I put Crona into a story like Soul Eater Wonderland, which I slaved over and had fun with, The Last Thing On My Mind Is To Argue Whether Or Not This Character Is A Boy Or Girl. Which is the main reason as to WHY I HATE PEOPLE'S REACTION TO THIS TINY DETAIL. I love writing. I want to make a career out of it. I love the feeling of putting developed characters through various trials and interesting plots. I DESPISE when such an inferior and minor detail manages to distract and pull reader's away from all the hard work and effort put into THE REST of the story.

With all that said, please, keep this in mind when reading Soul Note Episode 4, or anything else involving Crona, or, heck, any other character with no definable gender. I don't wish to imply that I don't want any mention of this particular character in comments. By all means, go ahead, for everyone is free to express themselves as far as I'm concerned. All I ask is that you think before you type into that box and focus on what really matters. That would by why I omitted Crona's gender completely, so as to help people look to other things in the story, such as, well, the story itself. I'm not quite sure how this is going to effect how I write Crona in data submissions, but I suppose we'll see then. I very much appreciate those who took the time to read this and I hope you all enjoy the new chapter.

In other news, I'd like to explain why it will take me even longer to update than the already lengthy time it takes me, but I will summarize it in one word: School.

...Okay, also because I've been juggling around other ideas for completely different stuff along with the occasional video game and funny web video sessions. I dearly apologize to all those who have been waiting for continuations of Soul Eater Pokemon Series and Crona's Bedtime Stories, but I am open for any suggestions or ideas that any of you would wish to share.

Again, thank you all very much for reading, after all, readers are the ones a lot of us writers are most thankful for, and I wish you all the best.

EDIT: Guys, I am SO sorry. I didn't realize that I had posted the journal three times in a row! It was because I refreshed the page while posting it accidentally. Sorry about that, but at least it's all fixed now~
